  • Conversations with Corinne ** Updated **

Some conversations we’ve had with Corinne over the past few weeks:

Setting: In the car with dad, listening to “This Ol’ Man”

    Corinne: I’m a woman, daddy.
Dad: No, Corinne, you’re still a little girl.
Corinne: No, daddy, I’m a big girl. I’m a woman.
Dad: Yes, you are a big girl, but you’re still not old enough to be called a woman.
Corinne (very emphatically): Daddy, I’m three and half years old! I am a woman and a big sister!
    Dad: …

(You can’t win an argument with a woman. I’ve tried)

Setting: In the car with Mom and Grandma Ann, just passed a pond with a fountain in the middle.

    Corinne: Look, it’s the ocean!
Mom: Well, the ocean is really big and that’s just a small pond or a lake.
Corinne: Oh, that’s right, the ocean is at the beach.

Setting: In the car with Mom and Dad, going over the bridge that crosses the Scioto River

Corinne: I want to see the sea
Dad: Well, that’s a river, not the sea
Corinne: Oh, that’s right. The sea is in Australia

I could fill up pages with the funny things she comes up with. These are but a few…

Update (10/19) – I had to update this post with something Corinne said yesterday. After dinner, we were eating some Halloween cookies that Corinne and Greta made for dessert. Corinne had already eaten three or four when she asked for another. Greta said, “Let’s wait a few minutes, in case your belly tells your brain that you’re full.” Corinne didn’t miss a beat. She looked down at her stomach and said:

    “Belly! You’re not full, okay!?”

Then she asked for another cookie.

  • This hurts! (Video of the Week)

You know, sometimes it’s okay to laugh at other people’s misfortunes. This is one of those times:

I know it’s been a while, but wasn’t it worth the wait!?

A lot of fun was had at this year’s Apple Festival. Along with the annual parade, Corinne and Grandma Ann entered a cake into the Apple Festival Bake-off. It came in second place!
